A jewellers in Preston has donated over £3,000 to Rosemere Cancer Foundation.
Whittles, on Fishergate, decided to donate to the charity after Sarah Broadbent, the assistant store manager had treatment for skin cancer at the centre in 2022.
The shop is owned by a company based in Lytham St Anne’s, which gifts every member of staff an annual award from its Charitable Trust to donate to a local charity of their choice.

Sarah Broadbent said: “Choosing Rosemere for our donation was an easy decision. Two members of our team have seen the incredible work they do first-hand.
“I was diagnosed with Stage 3 melanoma in July 2022. After a successful operation and a year-long course of immunotherapy at Rosemere Cancer Centre, I have been given the all clear.”
Another colleague also had family members who were patients at the centre, with her grandfather ‘ringing the bell’ recently after recovering from prostate cancer and her mother being treated for breast cancer.

Sarah added: “We all owe thanks to the incredible staff at Rosemere and supporting Rosemere Cancer Foundation is our way of showing it.”
The donation will help fund equipment, research, staff training and services to make a patient’s cancer journey more comfortable and stress-free.
Sue Swire, fundraising manager for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: “We cannot thank the team at Whittles enough for choosing to support us with what is a diamond of a donation.”
