A gun fired this morning in Preston was likely a blank-firing weapon, police have said.
Police were called at around 9am this morning (February 27) to London Road and road closures were put in place in the area – the roads have since reopened.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and remains in custody. No further arrests have been made at this stage.

No one was injured as a result of the firearm discharge and the police have said that there is no threat to the wider public. They have said they believe a blank-firing weapon was involved. The weapon has been recovered and is now being examined.
Supt Steve Rides of Preston Police, said: “We are treating this as an isolated incident and we have a man in custody.
“You will see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate the circumstances of what happened and to provide reassurance to the public.
“As part of our investigations, we are asking for anyone who has dash cam or CCTV footage from the area, to contact us.
