Preston’s wet start to the year has seen trees come down across Avenham and Miller Park.
The area close to the old parkeepers cottage has a number of trees which have tumbled.
Pictures on Friday (23 February) morning showed the fallen trees strewn across the paths at the upper and lower levels of Avenham Park.
It is not known at this stage whether Saturday morning’s Parkrun will be affected by the fallen trees.
It’s understood the recent wet weather has caused a small landslip and seen the trees dislodged.
A Preston City Council spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, a mature lime tree has failed and fallen onto the path at Derby Walk in Avenham Park.
“The area has been taped off and the tree will be removed as soon as possible.”
