A driver was arrested for driving with two unrestrained children, testing positive for cannabis and a number of other issues with the car in question.
Police received an initial report of a car driving with an unrestrained child. They first reported the incident at around 10.45pm last night (February 12).
The car was stopped on the M61 and police found two unrestrained children. The car had one defective tyre, two defective lights and a missing indicator.
The driver then tested positive for cannabis and was arrested, police have confirmed.
A spokesperson for police said: “Report received about a car driving with an unrestrained child. Car was stopped on M61 and two unrestrained children found along with, one defective tyre, two defective lights, a missing indicator and the driver tested positive for cannabis and was arrested.”
