A charity firewalk is taking place in Ribbleton in memory of two inspiring women.
The event, which will raise money for Cancer Help Preston, is in honour of Audrey Clement and Betty Pennington.
Lyn Clement – Audrey’s daughter and owner of TRibe Fitness based at Preston Technology Centre in Marsh Lane – is organising the event.

Lyn said: “Betty and my mum Audrey were both amazing women.
“My mum inspired me to build a community of women who support each other.
“Betty was a paramedic at Royal Preston Hospital who sadly passed away last year from cancer. As a paramedic, mum and human being, she was an inspiration to all who met her.”
Lyn has chosen to raise funds for Cancer Help Preston because of the work it does not just with patients, but with the families and friends of those affected.
Lyn continued: “We hope to raise a lot of money but at the moment we are falling short on ticket sales just to cover the cost of the event.
“We call all the people of Preston and the surrounding area to come forward and challenge themselves to walk over hot coals to raise money for a really deserving charity.”
