Award-winning Preston author Christie J. Newport is launching her new book at Waterstones in the city.
The Ordinary Man – the second instalment of The Preston Murders series with Detective Beth Fellows – has been published today (Thursday 8 February).
It follows The Raven’s Mark, which garnered a number of glowing reviews from best-selling and award-winning authors
The Ordinary Man trailer features eerie music and the words: “He’s just an ordinary man, driving an ordinary car telling you to get in. And he’s the last person you’ll ever see alive.”
A former pupil of Archbishop Temple Church of England High School and Preston College, Christie won the inaugural Joffe Books Prize for Crime Writers of Colour in 2021.

The launch event takes place at Waterstones in Fishergate on Saturday 10 February at 3pm. There will be a Q&A hosted by Samantha Brownley from the UK Crime Book Club and author signing.
Christie said: “It’s very exciting to be having the launch in my home city and where the series is set.”
