Two men charged after champagne and spirits raid at Booths

Two men have been charged with four offences of theft relating to different Booths supermarkets across Lancashire.

Officers from Lancashire Constabulary were called to the Booths store on Berry Lane, Longridge, at 12.57pm on January 9, to a report that £1,000 worth of champagne and spirits had been stolen.

Two men were later arrested when police stopped at car in Blackpool.

A spokesperson for police said: “At 1.21pm, we stopped a car on Common Edge Road, Blackpool, and arrested two men, aged 30 and 27.”

Eduard Cristea, 27, and Lulian Bucur, 30, both of Warrington Road, Ince, Wigan, have been charged with four offences of theft.

The charges relate to thefts from Booths in Longridge, Penwortham, Longton and Fulwood. They have been remanded to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court.
