Officers and staff from Preston and South Lancashire have been recognised for their outstanding contribution to Lancashire Police.

The twenty-three people from the South Division, which covers Preston, Chorley and South Ribble, were awarded at the Chief Constable’s Commendation evening on 14 December.

Those were singled out for particular recognition at Hutton HQ in Preston, where the event was held.

PS Timperley and PC Hopley were presented with an award from The Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society, which grants honorary awards to individuals who have put themselves at risk to save others.

In February 2022, the two officers saved an elderly man in Preston who had gone into cardiac arrest. They performed CPR until paramedics arrived, meaning he was well enough to be discharged from hospital a few weeks later.

Chief Superintendent and Divisional Commander, Stasia Osiowy said: ā€œAll of my officers and staff across the division play a significant part in keeping South Lancashire safe through the work that they do every day and through their engagement with our communities.

ā€œIt is fantastic to see that these individuals have been commended. They thoroughly deserve the individual recognition of their outstanding achievements.ā€
