Preston has awoken to the first snow of winter as a light sprinkling has covered the city.
Icy driving conditions are being experienced as a weather warning for snow and ice is in force until Thursday (18 January) evening in the city.
South Ribble Police closed part of Golden Way in Penwortham during Tuesday (16 January) morning due to a crash. At 7.15am it had reopened to traffic and the road has been gritted again.

Preston Bus has stated it is experiencing delays to many of its services due to the conditions on the road.
At present there are no school closures listed for Preston or South Ribble.
A cold health alert, set at the amber level, is in force for Preston and Lancashire from the UK Health Security Agency and Met Office as temperatures are set to be well below freezing each night until Friday this week.
