A cold weather health alert for Preston and Lancashire has been extended through to Thursday (18 January) as temperatures fall further.
The city has been gripped by low temperatures since early January and now health bosses and weather forecasters are saying night-time temperatures in particular will fall further.
From Sunday the forecast for Preston has night-time temperatures between -2 to -3 degrees each night.

The yellow alert, the lowest cold health alert from the UK Health Security Agency, started on Thursday 11 January and runs for seven days. It also warns the alert may be upgraded to amber for some regions during Sunday (14 January) in anticipation of snow warnings being issued by the Met Office.
Preston’s current weather forecast, from BBC Weather/MeteoGroup, does not show snow for the city – only sleety showers during Tuesday (16 January).
