There has been a significant fly-tipping incident reported each week for the last four weeks and the council are now asking for the public’s help.
Cabinet member for environment and community safety, councillor Freddie Bailey, said: “The Council spends around £2m per year on the street cleansing service which includes fly-tipping, littering and graffiti removal, and during 2022/23 the service removed more than 4,000 occurrences of fly-tipping.
“Two Waste Enforcement Officers tackle fly-tipping and waste crime on the highway and public spaces across the city, which include these most recent instances.
“Unfortunately, there has been an incident each week in the last four weeks of waste being dumped in the middle of the road by a white Ford transit tipper.
“We urgently need the public’s help to identify the vehicle/persons responsible, especially if you live in the Moor Nook Estate area and have CCTV footage. Our team is determined to locate this vehicle so the persons responsible for this blatant disregard of the law and of the local neighbourhood can be dealt with appropriately.”
The council are asking if you have any information or CCTV footage of fly tipping then you can email neighbourhoodservices@preston.gov.uk or call 01772 906905.
