Man charged with petrol station drive-offs totalling more than £2,000

A Liverpool man has been charged with fuel thefts from garage forecourts including in Preston.

Preston Police said Jonathon Lawrence, 24, of Feltwood Walk, Liverpool, was arrested on Monday (8 January).

He has been charged with 13 offences of making off with payment involving £2,690 worth of fuel from petrol stations across Preston. He has also targeted stations in Blackpool, Nelson and Burnley.

Police say he has been charged with three further offences of driving without a licence and three offences of driving without insurance.

He has been remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court.
