Social media star Dad the Dish is set to open Munch Box Preston.
Simon Hannigan will open the eatery in what was Slice Out in St Mary’s Street off Ribbleton Lane this month.
Simon, who is from Kirkham, found fame during the pandemic.
In an ITV feature, Simon shared how he was unemployed, homeless and living in a second hand £250 car in 2010.
He started to make a living by selling cars before branching out into recruitment. After launching Dad the Dish to show people, especially single dads, how to cook simple and tasty meals, Simon’s online presence grew from strength to strength.
He opened his first eatery in Blackpool in May last year.
When Munch Box opens in Preston, customers can expect signature dishes such as smash burgers, sticky Korean grilled cheese, spicy bacon tots, pulled pork loaded fries and buffalo tenders.
Simon told Blog Preston: “I’m really looking forward to opening in Preston, I’ve got a fantastic following from there and they’ve all been reaching out about it!”
Job openings are available at the new branch for receptionists, chefs and drivers, with full training provided for each position.
Posting earlier on Facebook, Simon said: “2024 is going to be massive and I just want to thank you all for your continued support since I became Dad The Dish and since Munch Box opened.
“It’s been a life changing experience since day one and I’ve met such amazing people.
“We’re creating amazing careers for people and they are truly what makes Munch Box an experience. Nothing would have been possible without the team.”
Munch Box will be opening in Bolton, Burnley, Blackburn, Chorley, Salford, Southport, Ripley, Chesterfield and Retford during 2024. Each location will be operated in partnership with privately-owned pub group KLM Pubco.
