Pantomime season is upon us (oh yes it is!), so we’re rounding up what’s on in Preston and the surrounding areas this Christmas.
Initiate Theatre is bringing this professional pantomime written by Ben Crocker to Crossgate Church in the St Matthews area.
“Follow Prince Arthur as he prepares to marry Princess Guinevere – unless the wicked Morgan Le Fay and Valerin the Vicious have anything to do with it! Thankfully his friends Merlin, LAUGHalot, Connie Clatterbottom and Teddy are there to help him!”

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is being brought to life this Christmas at Preston Playhouse.
“Allow the magic of pantomime to transport you to the land of make-believe. Throw in seven friendly dwarfs, a magic mirror, a daft nurse and even dafter court entertainer, a handsome prince and a beautiful princess plus plenty of audience participation – it must be the perfect recipe to outwit the Wicked Queen and let love prevail.”

The Base on Broadfield and Wade Hall Community Association present their version of Brian Luff’s pantomime Cinderella Superstar at the Civic Centre.
“An amateur production of a classic pantomime with a twist, this is a free event for all the local community. Our cast are all local community members and everyone involved is giving up their time voluntarily to bring the true spirit of Christmas and the magic of pantomime and theatre to everyone.”

Presented by the junior show teams at Fylde Coast Youth TheatreWorx, this panto takes place at Wesham Community Centre.
“It’s complete pandemonium in Pantoland! Aladdin’s lamp, Cinderella’s slipper and the goose that lays the golden eggs have all been stolen – and none of the Good Fairy’s magic is working. There can only be one culprit: the Wicked Witch!”

This pantomime production of Peter Pan by the Busy Bee Theatre Company will be performed in a family-friendly venue.
“Pixie dust at the ready! Join Peter Pan as he sets sail on a brand-new adventure this Christmas. With special effects, custom sets, beautiful costumes and a barrel of laughter, this pantomime adventure will take your whole family on a swashbuckling trip to Neverland like never before!”

The ComedySportz team are back this Christmas for more Totally Improvised Pantomimes at Chorley Theatre.
“Heroes, villains, songs and silliness are guaranteed. Each show is a loving pastiche of familiar pantomime tropes and characters where anything can happen. The performers don’t know their roles beforehand, and audiences might even get involved in the action! There will be live music and songs, games and plenty of festive fun for all.”
