A significant build up of poorly-organised waste meant that the recycling bins could not be collected on one street in Preston this week.
The waste, which was blocking access to the recycling bins at Sellers Street in Ribbleton, appeared to include elements of old Hi-Fi, a pram and a small sofa.
Preston City Council said that they will be forced to clear the waste in the New Year to ensure that collections can continue for the properties affected. They also reminded residents and businesses that collections can be booked for bulky waste.

A spokesperson for Preston City Council said: “Unfortunately we have been unable to empty the recycling bins on Sellers Street this week due to a build up of waste in the back alley.
“We will return in the new year to clear the waste and ensure that collections can continue.”
