Man charged with attempted murder after woman found with head injuries Plungington

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was assaulted at an address in Plungington.

Officers from Lancashire Police were called shortly before 11pm on Monday (December 11) to a report a woman in her 50s had been found with head injuries.

Police confirmed yesterday that a woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition – but her injuries were said to not be ‘life-threatening’ at that point.

A 46-year-old man was later arrested by police.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Aiden Burns, 46, of no fixed address, was charged with attempted murder.

He has been remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates Court today (December 13).
