Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Plungington

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Plungington.

The man in his 40s was arrested after a woman was found with injuries.

Police were called at shortly before 11pm on Monday (11 December) after the woman, in her 50s, was found with head injuries in Plungington Road.

She was then taken to hospital where she remains.

Her condition is serious but not thought to be life threatening at this point.

Officers attended a nearby address and arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

It was reported that three CSI vehicles were seen on the Brook Street end of Ashmoor Street for most of the day.
