The council are urging people to look after themselves over Christmas and New Year.
Preston’s Safer Streets Officers and Preston police have issued advice for those planning a night out over the festive period. Officers will be out in the city centre and are available to ask for assistance if anybody needs help.
They have highlighted the dangers of spiking after The Government brought in new measures this Monday, seeing a crackdown on spiking crimes and more training for door staff.

People should not leave their drinks unattended and to look after their glasses closely.
If anyone suspects someone to have been spiked, they should seek medical attention and contact the police as soon as possible. If the incident has just occurred, people should dial 999 and talk to a member of staff at the club, bar or pub whilst also retaining the glass which they think was used.
The advice also offers guidance on the journey home, making sure people prepare a lift or pre-book a taxi to stop drink-driving and suggesting those to keep an emergency number of a family member or friend who can come and pick them up.

Temperatures are expected to be low, especially late at night, so the Safer Streets officers are making sure people do not forget a coat.
Cabinet member for environment and community safety, Councillor Freddie Bailey said: “The SSOs in their high visibility uniform are a reassuring presence. Along with the investment we continue to make in more CCTV cameras, we are pleased with the steps we are taking to make our streets as safe as possible and reduce criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.
“If you have any concerns at all, please get in touch with one of our officers. They can be found on the street or door staff can send them a radio message to come and meet you.”
