Some homes, businesses and roads are likely to be hit by flooding in the next 24 hours, according to a new warning from the Met Office.
Preston is included in the yellow weather warning for rain from the Met Office which runs from 8am today (December 9) until 3am tomorrow (December 10).
A large volume of rain is likely to fall between now and midday before continuing into the evening with hail and thunder also likely.

It is likely journey times will take longer as roads are hit by flooding and businesses and homes are also at risk, according to the warning.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “A band of rain, heavy at times, will move eastwards across the area this morning, clearing by around midday. 10-20mm is likely in places with perhaps 25-30mm over hills and mountains, and falling onto already saturated ground.
“A drier interlude follows, but further heavy rain is expected this evening as bands of showers sweep eastwards producing a further 20-30mm, along with a risk of hail and thunder.”
