Ye Olde Hob Inn has reopened under new management.

The historic Bamber Bridge pub welcomed customers back from Thursday (14 December).

New licensee Ben takes over after a brief closure due to the previous management’s departure.

Posting on Facebook, a spokesperson for the Grade II listed pub said: “Ben is very excited to be bringing a fresh vibe to our beloved pub, whilst keeping excellent service, delicious fare, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere at the heart of everything we do.

“Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events, menus, and special promotions; in the meantime, our fridges are fully stocked, the beer is flowing, and we can’t wait to welcome you for a glass of your favourite tipple over the festive season.

“Cheers to new beginnings!”

It’s been a tumultuous few years for Ye Olde Hob Inn. The pub was closed for 11 months after a fire devastated the pub’s famous thatched roof in September 2018.

Initial repair works were followed by a £165,000 revamp in 2020 by the previous managers, Penwortham brother and sister team Sarah and Matthew Locke, along with Heineken-owned Star Pubs and Bars.

Posting a ‘big thank you’ on Facebook, Sarah said: “As most of you are probably aware we are leaving Ye Olde Hob Inn. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your amazing support over these past years… It has been a privilege to be landlady!”
