Preston Street Pastors began on 16 December 2008 and on the same date in 2023 they will meet at Preston Minster.
Mayor of Preston councillor Yakub Patel will give a vote of thanks to the 40 or so street pastors who give up their time to help those who are on a night out or who are struggling and out on the streets.

Group co-ordinator Paul Blackett said: “Reuniting friends, caring for those who have drunk a little too much, and signposting others to local support agencies is all part of a normal night out.
“We are a listening ear and a point of help for many. We don’t judge and we’re not easily shocked.”
