Man found dead in Preston flat identified after police appeal

A man who was found dead in Preston city centre has now been formally identified.

Preston Police released images of distinctive tattoos in an effort to trace a next of kin for the man.

His body was found just after 10am on November 7 at flats in Lancaster Road.

Police say his death is not being treated as suspicious and as a result of the appeal the man’s family have been in touch.

Det Insp George Binns, of South CID, said: “I would like to thank all of those who came forward with information to help with this very sad case. While it is good news that we have now identified this man my thoughts are very much with his family and loved ones at this time.”
