Major fire shuts Golden Hill Road in Leyland

A major fire has closed roads in Leyland during Saturday afternoon.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service has eight crews in attendance at a fire at a commercial building in Golden Hill Lane in Leyland.

South Ribble Police said Golden Hill Lane was partially re-opening at 5.30pm on Saturday at its junction with School lane with one lane open only.

Tomlinson Road is going to remain closed and the police said this closure will be in place ‘for some time’.

Fire crews were called shortly after 3pm on Saturday (11 November) to deal with the fire.

Significant smoke is in the area and the fire service says crews are likely to remain in attendance ‘for some hours’.
