There is set to be eight 60 minute episodes, with another series due to air in 2024 as well.
This comes after it was long-listed in the National Television Awards for Best Factual.
Following the success of the first series, Executive Producer, Anna Hall, said: “This has been a ground-breaking series to make – and we are thrilled that the sensitive work of the police; all the hospital staff and of course the Coroner and his officers have been recognised in telling these incredible stories.”
The first series managed to attract a consolidated average audience of 1.6m per episode and helped to showcase a number of medical processes, with one episode in particular that focused on organ transplants increasing blood donations by over 300 per cent.
