A women’s health and wellbeing event is taking place in Preston later this month. The free event, organised by TRibe Fitness, will feature talks from experts on different aspects of women’s health from menopause to nutrition, and self-confidence to sexual health.
“I run a women’s fitness and development centre in Preston, working with women of all ages but predominantly over the age of 30,” said Lyn Clement, personal trainer and TRibe Fitness’s owner. “Every day I hear the struggles of women with regard to menopause, mental health, nutrition, self-confidence, and self-worth. They struggle to link into health services and find cohesive healthcare.”
The event will be opened by Dr Ewa Craven, an experienced GP with expertise in menopause care and female health.
“Ewa Craven’s vision for women’s health hubs is crucial to all women in Lancashire and South Cumbria and is exactly what we need,” said Lyn. “Therefore I wanted to arrange an event to support her vision, an event where the women of Preston can learn more about health subjects and services that affect them.”
The event features a full schedule including a menopause question and answer session with Dr Ewa Craven and Louise Sears, a menopause nutrition talk, an acupressure workshop with Larissa from LAR acupuncture, and an in-depth look into navigating life with a serious eating disorder.
There will also be free active sessions including a pilates-based workout with Helen Kimber, a yoga session with Mandala Principal Emma Lowther-Wright, and a self-protection workshop with Jess and Clare from Krav Maga.

“Anyone is welcome to attend, irrespective of gender and age,” said Lyn. “Women’s health affects everyone not just women. If you have any kind of relationship with a woman you should try to understand the whole life cycle of a woman so you can navigate life with her as it shouldn’t be a solo journey.
“There is no need to book and the event is totally free for exhibitors and attendees.”
Lyn added: “I’m extremely excited about collaborating on this event with Ewa. We have a diverse community of women in and around the Preston area and I find many women, especially when they are entering menopause, are misunderstood in terms of healthcare. Women tend to be extremely resilient to our own detriment sometimes, we don’t attend services as soon as we should.”
Also attending the event will be life coaches, reiki healers, hypnotherapists, counsellors, Preston Domestic Violence Service, Forbes Solicitors Family Law Department, Manchester Fertility Clinic and more.
The event will take place on Saturday 25 November from 10am to 3pm at TRibe Fitness, Preston Technology Park, Preston PR1 8UQ.
