Ben Stubbs, founder of Rivington Brewing Co, said: “We’re mega excited to have a pop-up in the iconic Vaults at PLAU over the Christmas period.
“We’re looking forward to bringing a variety of styles, collaborations, events and beer launches to one the most unique bars in the country.”
The Friargate venue, which originally opened in 2018, is now fully back under the control of its founders Jeremy and Rebecca Rowlands.
Rebecca Rowlands, who co-founded Plau Gin & Beer House, said: “We’re incredibly pleased to have Rivington take over the Vaults this Autumn and Winter.
“To have one of the UK’s best breweries in what is believed to be the only surviving dram shop in the UK makes for a pretty special collaboration.
“PLAU has won a national award and most recently pub of the year for Lancashire. The venue to me has a very special energy and, after Covid and the major city roadworks, we hope this news will attract people to PLAU and the city centre. Preston Pub Fest was a great success and showed there’s a great beer scene in Preston – one we are very pleased to be a part of.”
