Lostock Hall fitness coach Dale Wallace has struck out alone to launch his DoTheWorkHQ.
32-year-old Dale has worked in the fitness industry his whole career, since qualifying in 2009.
During this time he’s been employed at Total Fitness and Puregym, and amassed over 10,000 hours of coaching experience.
However Dale says he was always destined to work for himself.
“I never really felt fully at home within the employed working environment,” said Dale. “I think it was inevitable that I’d end up self-employed.
“I used to run my personal training business alongside a full-time management role at Puregym, but that took me away from working directly with clients on their goals, which I believe is my calling in life.
“I’ve been fully self-employed since August 2020, and operated as a rent paying personal trainer at Puregym until June when I opened the doors of DoTheWorkHQ for the very first time.”
Dale had just a month to get the facility at Walton Summit ready, after viewing it in late April.
Now it’s launched, DoTheWorkHQ is kitted out to provide a number of coaching programmes including ladies only small groups, boot camps, and 1:1 personal training. The private facility is open Monday to Saturday with sessions available from 6am to 7.30pm.
Dale’s vision is to create a safe community where people can transform their relationship with themselves and their health and fitness.
He said: “I want DoTheWorkHQ to be more than just a gym; there’s plenty of those in Preston. We’re creating a friendly, supportive and welcoming community.
“We want to help ‘out of shape’ over 30s feel amazing again, irrelevant of how busy they are, and help them achieve the fitness, confidence and energy levels they thought they’d left behind.”
Dale continued: “Having worked in commercial gyms for a long time I know how little care of attention is provided for the individual, and I don’t want my clients to feel like just a number.
“Many of my clients initially found it incredibly difficult to step foot in a busy commercial gym. It’s scary for them so I want to create an environment where they feel safe, they don’t feel judged. I want DoTheWorkHQ be a place they can build their confidence way beyond what they thought would have been possible.”
While clients often go to Dale for help with weight loss, he says many move on to bigger performance-based goals with help from Head Mindset Coach, Annika McGivern.
“Our coaching is designed to empower our clients to overcome obstacles, break through barriers, and embrace a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle as well as developing the resilience so that they can take on just about anything.
“We’ve recently had clients climb a mountain over 4,000m in Morocco, complete a 100km walk, and run a half-marathon. By helping our clients cultivate self-confidence and a positive mindset, it opens doors way beyond just the gym.”

Looking ahead, Dale is planning to grow his client base to increase the number of people he can help.
“Our approach is rooted in long-term sustainability and high-level accountability. We firmly believe that results are guaranteed if you are willing to #DoTheWork, and in fact we offer a results or your money back guarantee.
“By March 2024 we want to be helping transform the lives of at least 100 clients at HQ across our various coaching programmes.
“We have a free bootcamp session available for anyone who wants to come and try our facilities. Whether it’s to run marathons, climb mountains, or to lose your first 10lbs, we’ve got you covered.”
