Firefighters spend three hours rescuing cows from slurry pit

Firefighters spent three hours rescuing cows between Longridge and Chipping.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Preston and Penwortham on Saturday (7 October) evening.

Three cows had become stuck in a slurry pit at Parsonage Lane near Chipping around 7pm.

Firefighters used a gas monitor, lighting, farmyard telehandler and large animal rescue equipment to bring the crows to safety.
