A Preston Historical Society talk will tell the stories of the city’s Caribbean community.

The community, which has lived in Preston for over 70 years, has faced challenges and enjoyed successes in their goal of social integration and a settled family life with a full contribution to wider society.

Clinton Smith’s talk will include the impact of the more recent Windrush scandal on those who were vulnerable, despite having lived in Preston all their lives.

Preston’s Caribbean Community: Including the Pain of Enduring the Windrush takes place on Monday 2 October at Central Methodist Church in Lune Street.

You can pay on the door or buy tickets on Eventbrite. Arrive for 7pm, and the talk starts at 7.15pm.
