Preston ranks as the second most calming city in the UK, according to new data.
Compare the Market has analysed over 40 of the most populated cities in the UK, taking into account factors such as population density, noise pollution, the quality of green spaces, the number of walks available in the area, and the amount of spas, to reveal some of the most calming and relaxing locations in the country.
Taking the crown for the most tranquil city is Milton Keynes.
However, second-placed Preston is the best place to find some peace and quiet as noise pollution scored just 12.5 out of 100, the lowest score of all cities analysed.
For those looking to relax in nature, Preston also has great air quality (84.4) and boasts almost double (102) the number of walking trails of Milton Keynes.
