All the Preston city centre roads that will be closed for Battle of Britain memorial parade

A number of Preston city centre roads will be closed this weekend for the Battle of Britain Memorial Service parade.

Birley Street will be shut between 10am and 5.30pm on Saturday 9 September, while all other affected streets will be closed from 12pm to 2.30pm.

Road closures

Lancaster Roadfrom its junction with Old Vicarage to its junction with Church Street
Church Streetfrom its junction with Lancaster Road to its junction with Fishergate
Fishergatefrom its junction with Church Street to its junction with Cheapside
Cheapsideits full length
Market Placeits full length
Market Streetits full length
Earl Streetits full length
Birley Streetits full length
Jacson Streetits full length

The diversion routes for the closures are as follows:

  • Glover’s Court, Syke Street, Avenham Lane, Queen Street, London Road, Stanley Street, Ring Way, North Road, Tithebarn Street and Old Vicarage in that direction only
  • There will be no diversion route for the Birley Street road closure
