The car park at a popular Bamber Bridge park is being expanded.
South Ribble Borough Council has announced a change to Withy Grove Park.
A further 30 spaces are being added to the current overflow car park and a new barrier is being introduced to the main car park.
The park was recently awarded its first-ever Green Flag Award – the awards for well maintained and high quality parks in the UK.

Leader of the borough council councillor Paul Foster said: “We’re so pleased that the park and the facilities on site are as successful as they are. The new Sports Hub on site has provided a brilliant facility for the community and already is striving.
“As a result of its success, we were made aware by residents and visitors that parking was becoming an issue. We have listened and actively made changes to address this.
“While of course we would always encourage more sustainable ways of travelling, we know that these additional spaces are needed and I’m pleased we can have them in place ready for the new football season when we expect the site to get busy again.”

The park in Bamber Bridge has experienced issues with traveller groups visiting it so the new barrier across the main car park is set to defer travellers.
Cllr Foster said: “Travellers frequenting this area has been an ongoing problem and I’m pleased we have been able to take action to deter travellers in the future with this new height barrier.
“Travellers, and their encampment removal comes at a cost to the council and you as a taxpayer so I’m pleased were able to do what we can to reduce this.
“I’m pleased overall that we have been able to listen to the concerns and thoughts of our residents and visitors and make changes which will be of a great benefit to area and will ensure that people can enjoy the facilities and the park as much as they can.”
