Spitfire to be on Preston’s Flag Market for Battle of Britain event

A commemoration of the Battle of Britain will take place in Preston city centre.

Beginning with a parade through to the Flag Market to remember the sacrifices made in the air war against Germany.

A service led by Reverend David Dickinson is to take place at the Cenotaph with hymns and the National Anthem.

There will be a Spitfire model supplied by Hangar 42 (Spitfire Visitor Centre) on the Flag Market throughout the day on Saturday 9 September.

A trailer stage will be positioned by the Obelisk, facing the Cenotaph, and the RAF band will be performing.

The event is free to attend and runs from 10am to 4pm.
