Ambitious proposals for a leisure complex on the banks of the River Ribble look set for the green light.
The Phoenix Park development is due to go before councillors for discussion.
Pioneer TEC group already have permission for the new education centre and want to over the course of five phases build out an enormous leisure park at Wallend Road.

It will include a ski slope, mountain bike track, leisure lake and lodges for young people in care amongst other facilities.

The Environment Agency had initially indicated it would object to the proposals due to pollution concerns but they say no objection is now tabled following further information on how pollution would be controlled from the site.
Planning officers at Preston City Council have recommended the leisure scheme for approval.
Councillors will meet on Thursday (10 August) to consider the proposals.
