Drivers turning a supermarket car park in Leyland into a scene from ‘Fast and Furious’ are being clamped down on by police.

South Ribble Police attended the Tesco Leyland car park during Friday (25 August) evening.

A driver was stopped and reported for careless driving.

A spokesperson for police said: “Tonight you would be forgiven for thinking Leyland was the host of the new Fast & Furious film hearing the screech of tyres coming from the car park at the big Tesco. Officers on foot patrol soon found the wannabe racer drifting around the car park like it was a track.

“We get to see some questionable standards of driving, but this guy definitely wouldn’t make it in the film industry and Dwayne would not be impressed.

“We are aware of the antisocial driving in the area and the problems it causes local residents. We will continue to work closely with Tesco and the community to tackle this problem for the community.”

Anyone experiencing issues of anti-social driving can call police on 101.
