Police appeal to trace Preston man after attack in a car in Blackpool

Police are continuing to appeal to trace a Preston man wanted in connection with an assault.

An original appeal from Lancashire Police asked for help tracing Simon Cooney and Autumn – who is aged three-years-old.

Preston Police said on Bank Holiday Monday (28 August) evening that Autumn had been found safe and well outside her home in Blackpool.

35-year-old Cooney remains on the run and is wanted by police after an attack at 4am on Bank Holiday Monday in Blackpool.

A woman was punched in the face and had her hand bitten during an assault in a car.

Cooney is white, 6′, slim build, shaven head and a beard.

He has links to both Blackpool and Preston.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting log 211 of August 28.

The public are being urged not to approach him and for immediate sightings to call 999.
