A pensioner remains in hospital after an assault in Deepdale during Saturday morning.

Preston Police have charged Austin Duckworth, 37, with section-18 assault and criminal damage.

Officers were called to reports of an assault at a property in St George’s Road, Deepdale, shortly after 11.45am on Saturday (26 August).

A man in his 70s had minor visible injuries and was taken to hospital later that day.

Police say he is now in a serious condition.

Both parties are known to each other and Austin Duckworth appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tue 29 August).
