As the August Bank Holiday approaches here’s a number of events happening in and around Preston.

Thursday 24 August

Glastonferret, The Ferret, Fylde Road. The annual festival returns, details here.

Preston Music Festival, Riva showbar. Sound clash battle from 7pm. Details here.

Saturday 26 August

Wreckage Weekender, Vinyl Tap. Motorhead tribute act ‘Motorbeard’ kick off proceedings at the Adelphi Street pub. Tickets through Skiddle.

Glastonferret, The Ferret, Fylde Road. The annual festival returns, details here.

Preston Music Festival, Riva showbar. All-dayer with street food too. Details here.

Fancy Fish & Fizz Festival, Bar Pintxos. The city centre bar has live music during Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon and an oyster happy hour. See Facebook for details.

Sunday 27 August

Wreckage Weekender, Vinyl Tap. The Hyperjax all dayer including Russ Bebop, Roadrunnerz, Snakerattlers and The Mighty Interceptors. Tickets through Skiddle.

Penwortham Family Fest, Vernon-Carus Sports Club. Put on by Penwortham Town Football Club there’s a bouncy castle, assault course, stalls, BBQ, charity match, cakes and more. Starts from 11am. Details on Facebook.

Tipsy Chef Street Food re-opening. Moving to the Lancaster Road premises. Booking is via website.

The Dreamhouse Experience at Dreams Beauty Studio, Longton. A visit from Barbie, make-up, glitter, nails, tattoos and more. From 12noon-2pm. Details on Facebook.

Makers Market, The Stags Head at Goosnargh. Stalls in the garden throughout the Sunday, a 12noon start. Free to attend.

Bank Holiday Garden Party, Haighton Manor. A caricaturist, Kings Dance Academy and entertainment from Ashleigh Wood and Hayley Eccles. Outdoor bars and BBQ. Free to attend. See Facebook for timings.
