Where kids eat free or cheap in and around Preston this summer

As the summer holidays get going we’ve rounded-up where you can get free or discounted meals for children.

Planning out what kids eat and when can put a strain on households budget for the six weeks – especially if families are used to receiving school dinners.

First in our list are independent restaurants, pubs and cafes we know of that are doing a deal – and then there’s a list of chain cafes and restaurants doing the same. These were all contributed by Blog Preston readers who had their eyes peeled for deals.

Independent deals

Maxy Farm Pantry and Restaurant, Cottam. Kids eat free with one paying adult. Deal is one childrens meal off the childrens menu, light bites not included. You need to show the Facebook post to the server. Deal not available on the Friday Night Tapas Menu.

The Continental, South Meadow Lane, Broadgate. Available until 1 September, kids eat free on Tuesday to Friday lunchtimes. One child’s free meal per adult and minimum spend applies.

Raees buffet restaurant, Walton-le-Dale. Kids eat for £1 Monday to Thursday.

Boskins cafe bar and bistro, Tarleton. Kids eat free all summer with every adult main meal purchased.

Puccini restaurant and bar, Cop Lane, Penwortham. Kids eat free with paying adult.

Cheeky Munchies and Cake Fix, 412 New Hall Lane. Kids hot lunches for £2, pizza and chips, chicken nuggest and chips, fish fingers and chips or sausage and chips.

Chain options

Marks and Spencer cafe, Preston city centre or Deepdale retail park. Children eat free in cafe with adult minimum spend of £5.

Revolution Preston, Fishergate. £2.99 kids meals, full-size pizza, chicken wrap, 3oz burger and friends, Asian salad or small fish and chips.

Morrisons cafe, Riversway or Blackpool Road. Kids eat free when adult buys meal of £4.99 or more.

Dobbies garden centre, Clifton. One free kids meal with each adult meal purchased.

Stonehouse pubs – Pig and Whistle in Blackpool Road and Farmer’s Arms in Wham Lane, Whitestake. £1 kids meals but only until Sunday (30 July).

Hungry Horse/Greene King pubs, The Guild, Lea Gate, Poachers and Phantom Winger. Selected two adults mains accompanied with two kids meal deals for £15 available all day every day until 3 September.
