Flood warnings and alerts are in force for Preston after nearly two days of persistent and heavy rain.
The Environment Agency has a flood warning in force for the River Darwen covering Higher Walton around Higher Walton Road, Darwen Street and Higher Walton Mills.
River levels are being closely monitored around Cann Bridge due to the heavy rainfall with a high watermark expected up to 7pm on Sunday (23 July).
Nearly 100mm of rain has fallen in Preston throughout Saturday and Sunday according to one city resident and their weather monitoring app.

There’s also a flood alert, the lowest risk level, for the Lower River Darwen and Lower River Ribble which covers the area from Samlesbury through to Walton-le-Dale and Higher Walton.
The Environment Agency has also put flood storage basins at Garstang, Catterall, Croston and Highgate Park in Fulwood into operation.
A spokesperson said: “This will take pressure aware from nearby rivers and protect people and properties from risk of flooding.”
Elsewhere in Fulwood then Preston Police have closed Black Bull Lane due to flooding close to Fulwood Leisure Centre and Queen’s Drive Primary School.
There’s also problems in Leyland Road Penwortham where a raised double manhole cover has been pushed up by the water level.

And in Catforth a number of roads are impassable due to flood water with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service advising motorists to avoid travelling.
Preston’s weather forecast according to BBC Weather currently shows rain continuing through Sunday evening before brighter weather returns from Monday (24 July).
