A creative scrap store is being launched within Preston Bus Station.
As part of the Lancashire Encounter Festival there will be a pop-up shop at unit six next door to the Bus Station cafe.
The scrap store will serve as a hub for workshops, hands-on creative activities, and engaging conversations centred around sustainable arts practice and materials.

Councillor Peter Kelly, cabinet member for culture and leisure services at Preston City Council, said: “We are pleased to support the Encounter Festival 2023, a vibrant celebration of arts, culture, and sustainability that truly showcases the essence of our city.
“The Creative Scrap Store, hosted by The Creative Principle, encourages participants to explore the creative possibilities of repurposing waste materials, fostering a sense of environmental consciousness and artistic ingenuity.”

Running from Wednesday 16 August through to the Lancashire Encounter Festival weekend on Friday 15-Sunday 17 September there will be dozens of events from vegan soap making to sketching.
Many of the events are free while others have a charge for the workshop, the full events list can be downloaded here.
