Police appeal after Leyland pensioner slashed with knife

Police are working to identify two men after a pensioner was slashed in the hand with a knife and attempted to steal his guitar.

The man, in his 70s, was walking home down an alleyway between Robert’s Court and Forestway in Leyland.

He was approached by two men between 11pm and 11.40pm on Monday (3 July).

One of them jumped on his back and attempted to take the guitar the victim was carrying, according to South Ribble Police.

The man, in his 70s, was slashed on his left hand with a knife and suffered a deep cut.

Police say the two offenders, dressed in black clothing, ran off in the direction of the Civic Centre on West Paddock.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw two men in the area around the time of the attack is asked to call 101 quoting log 0063 of July 4 2023.
