Man charged with two distraction burglaries in Ashton-on-Ribble

A man has been charged with two counts of burglary following distraction burglaries in Ashton-on-Ribble.

Preston Police appealed after the two break-ins during Monday (10 July) by a man claiming to be from the Water Board.

The homes of two elderly people were targeted with small amounts of cash and property taken each time.

Anthony McDermott, 57, from Ashton-on-Ribble was arrested and later charged with the burglaries and also two counts of fraud by false representation.

He will appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court during Thursday (13 July).
