M6 two lanes re-opened after crash between Preston and Samlesbury

Two lanes were shut on the M6 due to a crash ahead of what is expected to be busy Sunday afternoon traffic as holidaymakers return from the Lake District and Blackpool.

Preston Police were in attendance between Junction 31A and Junction 31 on the M6 southbound.

Lanes three and four were closed due to the crash.

The lane closures were lifted shortly after 5pm according to Highways England.

The crash took place shortly after 4.30pm on Sunday (18 June).

There are already delays of an hour against expected journey times with queues back nearly to Junction 33 for Lancaster and the M55 is backing up eastbound to Junction 3 for Kirkham.
