Keep an eye out for Wallace and Gromit’s lady friend Wendolene, as she enjoys a day out in Preston to celebrate National Cheese Day on Saturday 3 June.
The life-size replica of Wendolene Ramsbottom, the object of Wallace’s desires in A Close Shave, was created by the Knit and Purl Jam group who regularly meet at The Larder. Wendolene will be enjoying a day out in the city centre with a very special knitted cheeseboard, which will also feature a tasty selection of real cheese from Preston Market’s renowned cheese stall Pickles of Preston sitting alongside the knitted creations.
Wendolene and her companions will have gift bags containing such delights as Wensleydale and homemade chutney from The Larder. There will also be a raffle to raise money for the Knit and Purl Jam and they will be taking donations for selfies with Wendolene and a new mystery knitted character who will be unveiled on the day… Can you guess who it might be?!
