Eight fire engines at overnight blaze at commercial building in Leyland

Firefighters have been tackling an overnight blaze at a commercial building in Leyland.

Eight fire engines from Leyland, Bamber Bridge, Penwortham, Chorley and Preston were on the scene in Clydesdale Place from around 1am today (Tuesday 20 June).

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets, two hose reels and two ventilation units.

At 3.30am a Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “This incident has now been reduced to four fire engines, crews will remain on scene monitoring and extinguishing any hotspots.”
