Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a cyclist suffered critical injuries following a road traffic collision in Hoghton.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was found unresponsive in Gregson Lane at 12.20am today (Thursday 29 June). It is believed he collided with a stationary van before coming off his bike.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with a serious head injury, where he remains in a critical condition.

Sgt Daniel Gunn, of our Roads Policing Unit, said: “This collision has left a man with critical injuries and my thoughts are with him at this time.

“We’re working to establish the full circumstances of what caused the collision and I would ask any witnesses or anybody with dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist our investigation to get in contact with us.”

Anyone with information should email 2824@Lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 27 of June 29, 2023.
