The fifth annual Supercar Showtime at Hoghton Tower next month.

The event will showcase over 150 supercars, including classics of yesteryear through to modern day hypercars.

All profits from the event will go to Derian House Children’s Hospice, a charity providing specialist palliative, respite and end-of-life care for children and young adults throughout the North West.

The event is organised by husband and wife team Nick and Karen Isherwood, who live in Chorley with their two children. Nick and Karen are both unpaid volunteers and manage the commitment around their day jobs.

Nick said: “Supercar Showtime was first held in a pub car park in 2017. I had enjoyed the occasional supercar meeting with friends, but knew collectively we could do more to showcase amazing cars that often stay hidden away from the public eye, whilst at the same time creating an opportunity for owners to raise money for charity.

“We were amazed by the turnout to our first event and the funds raised. It was so well received we decided to move to a bigger venue and from there it has gone from strength to strength.”

Explaining the decision to support Derian House, Nick said: “In choosing a suitable charity we wanted to one playing a pivotal role in our local community and knowing about the incredible environment that Derian House creates for children and young adults with rare and complex needs, they seemed a perfect fit.

“You just never know what’s going to happen to you in life, and Derian House are there for families in their hour of need.”

Karen added: “We’re so fortunate to be supported by local and national businesses to help make this event possible and would like to thank Hoghton Tower for helping us to host our events, along with all of our volunteers, without whom the event would not be possible.

“It’s a great family day out, and an opportunity to make a positive difference to local families who need support from Derian House.”

Derian House Children’s Hospice provides respite, palliative and end of life care for babies, children and young adults. It covers the whole of Lancashire, the South of Cumbria and Greater Manchester. To provide these services the cost in 2023 stands at £6m, out of this the hospice receives less than 30 per cent from any statutory sources such as the NHS.

The charity relies heavily on the support of the general community to provide their services as most of the income of the charity is via people fundraising or donating towards their cause. Without events such as Supercar Showtime, the hospice wouldn’t be able to continue operating.

Mick Croskery, Fundraising Manager at Derian House, said: “We are so excited that Supercar Showtime is returning to Hoghton Tower in 2023.

“There is a huge team behind the scenes delivering this event to support our children and families – including Derian House Community Ambassadors Nick and Karen Isherwood. Through their amazing efforts over the previous four events, they have raised over £130,000 for our cause and I’m sure I can speak on behalf of all of our children and families when I pass on their gratitude.

“We are really looking forward to working alongside the Supercar Showtime team this year to deliver yet another amazing event for the community as well as raising much needed funds for the Hospice.”

Supercar Showtime will take place on Sunday 11 June from 10am to 3pm at the 16th-century Elizabethan fortified manor house, Hoghton Tower.

Attractions on the day include live music, simulated racing and guided house tours, plus a food village and tea room. Café Le Mans, the hospitality area, will also host a catwalk fashion show from Chorley based boutique Chic Happens, a resident DJ, a pop-up art gallery and a much-anticipated charity auction with motoring experiences and merchandise, holiday breaks and yacht charters up for grabs.

Supercar Showtime is expected to be a sell out once again. Tickets are available from the Supercar Showtime website or from the Hoghton Tower box office.
