Last month, the mayor of Preston visited the children, staff and governors of Royal Cross Primary School for Deaf children in Ashton-on-Ribble.
The school, in Elswick Drive,Ā has had an Ofsted rating of outstanding since 2011.
On Friday 21 April, Councillor Neil Darby, talked to staff and governors about the importance of inclusion and outdoor play in terms of the childrenās educational development and wellbeing.

During the day, the children had fun in their forest school garden, playing in the mud kitchen and toasting marshmallows over the firepit.
Claire and Bob joined in the morningās activities as representatives of the Armed Forces veteran organisation – Dig In North West who have been working alongside the school community to develop the gardens and equipment.
