The homes will be handed over in stages, with the full development due to be completed in the autumn of 2024.

Craig Garner, Executive Director of Resources at Community Gateway said: “Following the successful development of 126 affordable properties in Preston and Fylde with Westchurch Homes, we are looking forward to working together to develop a further 50 homes in Lostock Hall.

“This is also a development which will include CGA’s first shared ownership homes in South Ribble. We are delighted to be delivering another project which contributes to our objective of building new homes in areas where people want to live.”

Councillor Jacqueline Mort, of South Ribble, said: “The first step has been taken to build 50 safe and affordable high-quality homes and rejuvenate a derelict site in Lostock Hall.

After consultation with local residents, Westchurch Homes will deliver a mix of rent and buy properties which will improve quality of life, help local demand and reduce pressure to build on our greenfield sites.”

Oliver Chan, Business Development Manager at Westchuch Homes said: “Westchurch are delighted to get this scheme on site and start the construction of 50 affordable homes for Community Gateway.

This is our third site with Community Gateway and once completed will bring the total number of affordable homes we have collaboratively delivered to 176.”

This development is a key step for CGA, towards building and offering a wider choice of homes, locations and types of tenancies for customers.
